SONOPP Print Competition Rules

Please read the following rules carefully regarding the SONOPP Annual Print Competition.

  1. Every paid-up member of SONOPP may enter up to six photographs in the competition, but only four are considered for trophies and total points.  Please use the labels provided to designate each entry.

  2. The entry fee is $5 per photograph.  Please make checks payable to SONOPP and please make it a separate check from dinner fee.

  3. All prints must be registered with the SONOPP Print Competition Chairman by 7:00pm to qualify for trophies and awards.

  4. All entries need to have a title and the entrant’s name on the back of the print.

  5. No studio or photographer’s names can be on the front of the image.

  6. This competition is for prints only.  No folios, wedding albums, CDs, DVDs or videos permitted.

  7. No print can be in a frame.

  8. No print can be behind glass.

  9. The outside dimension of the entry must be 16” x 20” (+/- ˝”) unless the entrant holds the degree of Master of Photography from PPA.  PPA Masters rules regarding entry size apply to all Master Photographers.

  10. PPA Masters of Photography must compete in the Masters category.  All others compete in the General (Non-Master) category.

  11. All prints must be mounted on a mount board or mat board; however, there are no thickness specifications for this competition.

  12. Since the SONOPP print competition is a learning experience for members to determine which images to send on to MES or PPA Nationals, the PPA same-subject rule does not apply for this competition.

  13. Any photograph that has previously received a Blue Ribbon at a SONOPP or PPO competition or merited at the PPA National competition is ineligible for submission in this competition.

  14. Prints do not have to be submitted in approved print cases for this competition.

  15. In case of a tie in any category, multiple awards will be given.

  16. All other PPA print rules for the current year apply to this competition.
